Tata, squire of Muricy Ramalho in São Paulo, dies

Died this Wednesday (9) Mário Felipe Perez, known as Tata, assistant coach who for years worked alongside Muricy Ramalho in São Paulo. He was 68 years old, and the cause of death has not been released.

The Morumbi club highlighted the professional’s work in winning the third consecutive Brazilian championship in 2006, 2007 and 2008. “We wish strength to family and friends. To Tata, our gratitude”, published the association.

Paulista, Tata was born in 1953. Before working on the lawn, he was a player and built a good part of his career in teams in São Paulo, such as Santos, Portuguesa, Juventus and São José.

As a coach, he commanded Santo André and Portuguesa Santista. From 1999, he started to work together with Muricy at Portuguesa Santista. And accompanied him to several clubs.

Muricy, who currently serves as São Paulo’s coordinator, mourned his friend’s death.

“Today is being a very difficult day for me. I lost a friend of more than 40 years of friendship, who I met in the Caxingui neighborhood, in São Paulo. My soccer partner, we work together in many clubs. We were champions in several teams , and he always by my side in the moments of victory and defeat. My sincere condolences to all the family. Rest in peace my friend”, he wrote.
