The big star of skating from Russia, 15-year-old Kamila Valieva, confirmed the fame she has already gained at such a young age with the quadruple ax she made at the Beijing Winter Olympics, leaving judges and the world speechless. She became the first woman to achieve two quadruple spins.
However, she left us speechless not only with her performance, but also with her exams, in which she tested positive for doping. The news was revealed by a Russian newspaper that does not mention its sources. Valieva tested positive for trimetazidine, a substance on the World Anti-Doping Agency’s (WADA) list of metabolic regulators that is banned both inside and outside the organization.
Who is the miracle athlete of figure skating?
Despite her young age, Camila Valieva is already considered the greatest figure skater of all time. Camila, who started skating when she was 3 years old, is from Kazan, Russia. The 2022 Russian and European champion and the 2020 junior champion was a very active child from an early age.
When Camila was 5 years old, her mother advised her to choose a sport and although the choice was not easy, figure skating was what won her over.
A year later her talent was so obvious that her family moved to Moscow so that their daughter could have the best possible training conditions. At the age of 13, Valieva became the second woman in history to achieve a quadruple toll.
