THE Sir Jim Ratcliffe made his first statements after acquiring 25% of Manchester United’s shares.
The Brit sent his first message to the friends of the “red devils” and emphasized that he has the ambition to get the club to where it belongs, at the top.
His statements in detail:
“Our shared ambition is clear: we all want to see Manchester United back where we belong, at the pinnacle of English, European and world football. As a local boy and life-long supporter of the club, I am delighted that we have been able to agree an agreement with the Manchester United board to entrust us with the management of the club’s football operations.
While the club’s commercial success has ensured that funds have always been available to win trophies at the highest level, this potential has not been fully unlocked in recent times. We will bring the global knowledge, expertise and talent from the wider INEOS Sport group to help further improve the club, while providing funds earmarked to enable future investment at Old Trafford.
We are here with a long-term plan and recognize that there are many challenges and hard work ahead of us, which we will approach with rigor, professionalism and passion. We are committed to working with everyone at the club – the board, staff, players and fans – to help the club move forward.”
