Milton Neves does not renew his contract and leaves the Band after 15 years

The Band and presenter Milton Neves jointly decided not to renew their contract. The information was confirmed this Wednesday (27) by the broadcaster and the journalist at the F5.

An agreement was made between the company and Neves’ family. Both sides understand that the radio presenter is no longer able to work as he did in the past.

“By mutual agreement, Milton Neves ends his contract with Grupo Bandeirantes de Comunicação this Sunday, December 31st. Band thanks the professional, one of the greatest communicators in the history of Brazilian sports journalism, for his brilliant performance over the last 18 years “, says the Band’s note.

“Milton had a spectacular career in the company. He masterfully presented TV programs such as ‘Terceiro Tempo’, ‘Gol: O Grande Momento do Futebol’, ‘Band Mania’, ‘Que Fim Levou?’ and ‘Domingo Esportivo’, which achieved excellent ratings. The journalist also showed his genius in commanding the sports days of Rádio Bandeirantes and in his comments on BandNews FM”, praises the broadcaster.

“The Group reinforces the bonds of friendship, recognition and gratitude to the presenter and wishes him even more success in his next projects”, concluded the statement.

Milton Neves began his TV career as a presenter on Band, in 1999, after stints as a commentator on the now extinct Rede Manchete (1983-1999). In 2001, he was hired by Record. In 2008, he returned to Band, where he has been since then.

In recent years, Milton has experienced health problems, especially after the death of his wife, Lenice Neves, in 2020.

“I’m going to a psychiatrist who wants to give me medicine, but it doesn’t improve, there’s no way. Until my last second of life, I’ll remember her. I say Nice, Elenice and Lenice Call Magnoni Neves about 80, 90 times a day. I keep talking to her”, said Milton in a recent interview with UOL Esporte.
