The EFOEPA educational program for all was completed with great participation

by

The Hellenic Philatelic Table Tennis Federation completed the National Athletes’ Oriented Program on Wednesday afternoon, 12/27. The program took place in the context of the Olympic Scholarship, which had been received in the summer by the International Olympic Committee, and its innovation is that it addressed all the qualities that we can find in the systematic practice of sport, that is, athletes, agents, parents, referees and coaches.

The meetings started in November, they were online and yesterday the final event took place, which included greetings from E.F.O.E.P.A. officials, Workgroups and broad discussion. In fact, the presence of the approximately 120 participants was mandatory. Basically to certify their participation in the program and secondarily to record goals and aspirations and to interact with the target groups.

The groups were parents/guardians, athletes, coaches, referees, and game officials, however all participants were able to attend all classes. The president of EFOEPA, Kostas Papageorgiou, was present at the two-hour final event, while wishes for a happy birthday and a happy New Year were conveyed by the general secretary of the Hellenic Olympic Committee, Manolis Kolimbadis, who was on a trip and could not participate.

“It is very important to see this great participation and it is my great joy that we succeeded and got the funding to carry out all this training activity. EFOEPA is taking steps to invest in the training and qualitative upgrading of the sport with its own resources. I look forward to our next actions”, said the head of the EFOEPA administration in his short greeting.

The training program was fully funded by the IOC – Olympic Solidarity as a scholarship. The presenter and scientific manager of the program was Michalis Katsikadelis. In the role of experts were Georgia Zavitsanou, Konstantina Crotta, Kostas Vatsaklis and external partner Nikola Floka.

At the final event of the training program (NAOP) the participants had a rare opportunity to discuss and present their views, which will be shared with the managements of the sports organizations. Also, part of their obligations is to complete the “National Athletes Oriented Program” evaluation questionnaire by 12/28. The internal evaluation of the program of the E.F.O.E.P.A., which was financed by the “Olympic Solidarity 2021-2024 Plan/ Development of National Sports System”, is an extremely important parameter with the ultimate goal of helping sports federations in the training of essential educational programs.
