Obviously disappointed, but also concerned with the image and the defeat of Olympiakos from Lamia in “Athanassios Diakos”, appeared with his statements at the press conference o Carlos Carvalhal.

The Portuguese coach of the “red and whites” emphasized, among other things, that the team did not compete as Olympiacos and that such matches are not allowed to be played by teams claiming the championship.

At the same time, he stated that tonight’s case should be to be a lesson to all in the team, while, finally, he was asked to comment on the fact that for the second match in a row, Olympiacos remained at zero.

Carlos Carvalhal’s statements in detail:

“Congratulations on Lamia’s victory. I want to say that this game will be a lesson so that we don’t have the same image again in the future. We wore the Olympiacos jersey, but we didn’t play like Olympiacos footballers, the jerseys don’t play by themselves.

We didn’t try as hard as we should have and this should be a lesson for us because anyone who wants to be a champion can’t make games like this and it shouldn’t happen again until the end of the year in terms of our behavior.”

On whether he thinks there is a creation problem at Olympiakos because he did not score for the second consecutive match: “I don’t agree with that because in Atromitos we created many chances but we didn’t score and this is different because offensively we were creative. Unlike the match against Lamia where we created few chances, but we didn’t like the offensive function, and in general we didn’t like anything about our game. We didn’t score against Lamia because we didn’t have phases, while at Atromitos we were creative”.
