Primeira Liga-16th matchday: Tough tests for the “big ones”

by

Easy, in theory since traps are always hidden, are the missions of the “greats” of Portuguese football in the context of its 16th matchday Primeira Liga.

In the two matches on Friday (05/01), the pioneer, Sporting Lisbonwelcomes her Estoril (20:45) and wants to continue the absolute number of victories that it “runs” at home this season in the league (“8 out of 8 so far”), while a little later (22:45) the third, Portowhich is -3 off the top, faces away on the 13th Boavista.

On Saturday (06/01) h Benfica hosted by Aruka, with only the “three points” in mind, since they are at -1 from Ruben Amorim’s team and before the match they will know if the “lions” increased the difference or lost points. With the latter possibility and a possible win, the “eagles” will be the ones leading the race, so one can easily understand the importance of the match.

Nice and the last match of the second day of the competition (22:30), after the 4th Braga hosts the 5th Guimaraes, with the difference between the two teams being three points. On the one hand, Bruma’s team is the favorite for the victory, on the other hand, the guests are among the surprises of this year and are capable of doing “damage” and entering firmly into the bay for a European ticket.
