The team of Nikos Papanikolopoulos crushed with the emphatic 101-72 Prometheus of Patras at the “Yiannis Bourousis” Indoor for the 13th matchday of the Stoiximan Basket League, taking a deep ranking breath in the battle it is fighting to stay in the category!

Shooting at excellent rates throughout the match and finishing the match with 14 accurate three-pointers in 29 attempts (!), Karditsa improved their record to 3-10, rising – albeit temporarily – to 9th place in the standings!

Leading for the winners was Tevin Mackwho finished the match with 30 points, with Buchanan and Kamberidis following with 15 and 12 points respectively.

For Prometheus, who suffered his 5th defeat this season, a few days before welcoming the Le Mans for Game 2 of the BCL play-in series, only the Hunter Hale with 24 points (6/10 three-pointers).

The start of the race was stormy for her Carditsa, which from the very first minute showed her wild moods. In fact, with Buchanan’s basket at the end of the period, the hosts closed the quarter in front with a score of 27-11, at the time when Prometheus was unable to keep up with the opponent’s frantic pace.

The team of Nikos Papanikolopoulos continued to shoot with amazing percentages in the second period as well, maintaining the difference with characteristic comfort on the edges of 20 points. Hitting more on the racket and with Buchanan, Jones and Mac as the main players, Karditsa reached up to +19 (44-25), before the Patrinos, with a small burst in the finale, reduced for 54-38 at halftime.

The scene was similar in the second half, where the hosts continued to be in… the twilight zone, keeping their shooting percentages at very high values. Somehow, the difference did not take long to break the 20-point barrier, with McCallum, Kamberidis and Mack in a leading role, sending their team at +28 for 76-48 at 38! The guests managed to gather a little difference in the last two minutes of the period, thanks mainly to the baskets of Etsenike and Bazina, with the third quarter ending with score 77-55.

Somehow unexpectedly, h fourth and final period acquired a procedural character, since the fate of the match had already been decided. Nevertheless, the home team showed no intention of letting up, even going as far as +30 (100-70), before picking up a great win with final 101-72.
