Him Li Tie you may remember him from his appearance at the 2002 World Cup with Chinaor from his course in the English courts with the Everton (2002-2006) and Sheffield United (2006-2008).
Later in his career, the 46-year-old Chinese went into coaching, however many of his achievements from the edge of the bench were the products of illegal activity!
In a documentary about anti-corruption in China, the former defensive midfielder admitted that promotion to the top flight with Hebei and Wuhan was achieved thanks to many fixed matches in favor of his two teams!
And his recruitment by the Football Federation of the country for the position of coach of the national team in 2019, became a reality thanks to corruption to two officials…
Li Tie had stepped down from the national team bench after failing to qualify for the Qatar World Cup and in the fall of 2022 was under investigation for violations of anti-corruption laws.
