Cannavaro: “It’s time to take over Napoli”

by

As a footballer he excelled in the jerseys of Napoli, Parma, Inter, Juventus and Real Madrid, however as a coach Fabio Cannavaro hasn’t shown much in Europe yet – having spent many years in China.

However, the 50-year-old veteran stopper believes the time has come to take over a major Italian club. and specifically “Partenopei”!

Cannavaro said in an interview that “the time has come. It feels right, I’m ready. But the president is the one who decides and I didn’t receive any relevant message. The only contact I had was with Besiktas but they preferred Fernando Santos.

The situation is difficult in Napoli, after Spalletti, it didn’t work out for them. The departures of Kim and Judoli also played a role. 22 points less than last year is a lot.”

Cannavaro had been linked with the Neapolitans before they finally signed Walter Macari, with the 2006 Ballon d’Or winner having spent last season at Benevento without much success.
