Andreas Glyniadakis will not continue in the presidency of PSAK. The international center left and with his statement thanked the members of the Association and the respective deputy ministers of sports for their cooperation, highlighting the work carried out under his responsibility.
In detail, the statement:
“I want to thank all the athletes and the members of the Board of Directors for our cooperation over the years. I also want to thank the Deputy Ministers of Sports, Mr. Avgenakis and Mr. Vroutsis, with whom we had excellent cooperation.
With the subscriptions of our athletes during the pandemic period, we managed to hold competitions in A2, when in all other sports in the second category they did not compete.
Whenever needed, we supported athletes, in important issues and injury problems. A very important achievement was the insurance of A2 athletes after ten years. Also, our athletes studied through the dual career program.
A few months ago, we included female basketball players in the Association, a move that should have been made earlier.
We are trying to significantly contribute to the development of basketball in our country. The 3X3 tournaments held by the Association every summer throughout the country attract a lot of people, and the fact that they are held in cities that do not have big stadiums or teams makes it stronger.
Skiathos, Salamina, Arkalochori, Ioannina are some of the cities that had the opportunity to see professional basketball players up close and more than 7,000 children took part.
In closing, I wish the next Board of Directors to continue to develop the Association and the athletes to actively support it with their voice, as it comes from them and defends their own rights.”
