Milan beat “Friuli” with an incredible upset! The Rossoneri saw Udinese overturn the lead they took through Loftus-Cheek, but showed character with two goals from the 83rd minute and then managed to pull off a terrific comeback to win 3-2.
At 45 points, Milan, at -4 from Juventus, who on Sunday will be tested at the “Via del Mare” against Lecce, while Udinese has just one win in the last six games and with 18 points is only at +1 from danger zone.
They broke… a record in “Friuli”, after Gabriele Coffi was defeated for the first time by the Milanese, while Stefano Pioli reached 100 victories on the bench of his team.
In pure competition, Milan entered better, searching patiently and looking close to the goal, which came quite logically in the 31st minute, with Loftus-Cheek capitalizing on Theo Hernandez’s assist to make it 1-0. In the…caps the game was stopped for a few minutes after Mike Menian was racially attacked by Udinese fans and he and his teammates went to the dressing room. When they returned, they showed that they were not focused and Samardzic in the 42nd minute wrote the 1-1 halftime.
Udinese proved to be cynical, since in one of their few good moments (also) in the second half they managed to find a goal, with Toven in the 62nd minute making it 2-1. Things were getting tough for Milan and with time ticking away, Pioli’s players were fighting to salvage what was salvageable. And in the end, they got more than they expected. Because first Jovic in the 83′ took the rebound from Okoye’s unstable intervention to equalize at 2-2 and in stoppage time Okafor with a finish from inside the area, executed the opposing keeper for 3-2 amid wild celebrations from the Rossoneri fans who traveled to Udine.
