Infantino: “When a team’s fans commit racist acts, they lose the match on paper”

by

The problem of racist attacks in the stadiums remains one of the most important in the field of sports, with the last “victim” Mike Menianwho received such from Udinese fans.

FIFA President, Gianni Infantinoon the occasion of this event, sent a message of his own through which he clarified what is needed tightening of measures against racist acts in the fields, so that they disappear. In fact, he emphasized that in his opinion, the teams whose fans carry out such actions should lose the match on paper.

What he said in detail:

“The events that took place in Udine and Sheffield on Saturday are completely despicable and unacceptable. There is no place for racism or any form of discrimination, in football or in society. The players affected by Saturday’s events have my full support.

We need ALL relevant bodies to take action, starting with education in schools, so that future generations understand that this is not part of football or society.

In addition to the three-phase process (stoppage of the match, second stoppage of the match, cancellation of the match), teams whose fans have become the protagonists of acts of a racist nature – thus causing the cancellation of the match – must lose the match on paper and bans access to the stadiums to all of them as well as to charge them with criminal charges.

FIFA and the world of football show full solidarity with the victims of racism and all other forms of discrimination. Once and for all: no to racism! No to any form of discrimination!”
