Ilias Zouros was born on March 11, 1966.
He started his career as a first coach, in the period 1995-1996, at Paleo Faliro and then sat on the bench of OSFP for two years (2000-2002), winning the Greek Cup.
In 2003, he won the Lebanese Championship and the FIBA ​​Asia Champions Cup, with Satges Beirut, and in the following two years he returned to Greece on behalf of Near East and Aris. In 2006 he sat on the bench of the French Paris Racing.
This was followed by a three-year stint on the Panhellenic bench, which he led to one of the greatest moments in its history, i.e. to F4 of the Eurocup, in the 2009-2010 period, and at the same time, he was named Coach of the Year in the competition.

In 2016 he was on the bench of Buduchnost for one competitive season and in 2019 he had a short stint on the bench of Peristeri. The last team at the collective level, in which he served as its first coach, was Prometheus Patras, in 2021.
Ilias Zouros was a member of the technical staff of the Hellenic National Team (1999-2000), its first coach (2011-2012), and also coach of the Georgia National Team (2016-2023), which he led to the final phase of EuroBasket for the first time in history of the country.
