AEK Betsson: Finally a league on equal terms and not based on the needs of the Euroleague

At the same time, the “Union” submits a series of proposals, such as the institution of a salary cap, equal distribution of ALL revenues, not holding matches on Mondays, but also the transfer of control of referees from ESAKE.

AEK VETSSON BC announces with a sense of responsibility, that at the meeting of the Championship Committee, which will take place today (30/01), it is going to vote “YES” to the request of KAE Aris Midea to postpone the day of the match against PAO.

Although the Championship Committee voted “NO” to our similar request, for rescheduling or postponing the match with PAO, because our Team’s European match was following after 2 days, we remain firmly and unwaveringly in favor of the law.

For the umpteenth time, we inform the sports fans that our main priority is the administration of justice and not opportunistic small-group expediencies. Our main priority remains the interest of Greek basketball as a whole, and in this direction we will move, as we have been doing for ten consecutive years.

It is obvious that the rules of the Greek Championship cannot be formed every time based on the needs of the two teams participating in the Euroleague.

That must change.

And for it to change, a will is required from all the OEMs, in order to ensure equality and improve the conditions for holding the Championship, with the aim of healthy competition.

What we recommend:

-Not holding matches on Monday, just as matches are not held on Mondays in advanced leagues, regardless of the day the matches are held in the Euroleague.

– Establishing a Salary Cap, as is the case in the French league.

-Equal distribution of ALL revenues (television, sponsorship, etc.).

– The Arbitration observers in the control of ESAKE.

AEK ΒETSSON BC is open to any comments related to the above, ie in the direction of improving the rules, from anyone, and obviously has other proposals to submit for discussion.

He does not intend, however, to remain inactive until he finds that something changes.
