Platanioti was second in the free solo qualifier

In terrible shape Evangelia Plataniotisset his sights on a second medal at the World Aquatics Championships in Doha.

The Greek artistic swimming champion, after the gold medal he won yesterday (3/2) in the solo technical programoccupied today (4/2) the second place in the preliminary of the free program and will claim a place on the podium in final that will take place on Tuesday afternoon (6/2, 7:00 p.m.).

Platanioti collected 253.7353 points, staying just behind Princess Alexandra, who represents Austria and was first with 253.8625 b., i.e. with a difference of about 0.1 point. Canadian Jacqueline Simoneau ranked third with 248.9189b, while fourth – but far behind – was Chinese Huiyan Xu with 230.8104b.

The qualification to the final was also ensured by Vasilina Khantoska from Belarus (competing as a neutral) with 224.1771p., Marie Alavitze from Georgia (219.2188p.), Susanna Pedotti from Italy (212.4521p.), Viktoria Reitsova from Slovakia (207.7917b), Yasmine Verbena from San Marino (207.0645b), Klara Bleger from Germany (206.9958b), Marlus Steenbeek from the Netherlands (200.9729b) and Karina Magrupova from Kazakhstan (200.6688b.)
