It is very difficult to qualify for the team in Paris, 12th nationally in acrobatics

It is difficult for the national artistic swimming team to qualify for the Olympic Games in Paris. A poor performance in the aerobatic final, left the Greek team in 12th and last place and now forces them to chase a big breakthrough in the other two events (technical and free team), in order to cover the lost ground and place within the five countries who will get the Olympic ticket.

Maria-Elli Alzigouzi-Kominea, Thalia Dambali, Zoi Karangelou, Maria Karapanagiotou, Danae Kariori, Artemi Koutraki, Ifigenia Krommydaki and Sofia Malkogeorgou collected 173.0234 points, about 40 less than yesterday’s qualifier where they took seventh place, and stayed behind even teams like Egypt and Chile.

The gold medal was won – as last year in Fukuoka – by China with 244.1767 points, just ahead of second place Ukraine (243.3167 points) and third place USA (242.2300 points).
