Vokolos on bwinSPORT FM: “Lamia’s mentality has changed – PAOK is ahead for the championship”

In her change of mind Lamias which from the battle for salvation of the previous years came to claim a place in the playoffs focused the Leonidas Vokolos speaking to News Bulletin 247. The coach of the team also mentioned the battle for the title, stressing that PAOK has a small lead.

In detail, Leonidas Vokolos spoke to Vaios Tsoutsikas and Michalis Tsochos about:

-whether entering the playoffs is now the goal for Lamia: “The goal is to change the mentality and look at each game individually. Because it is becoming a big deal for the top six and the playoffs, whatever happens in the next matchday with Asteras Tripoli, we have several matches ahead of us. Certainly if we manage to get the three points it will be another very important step for us. But in football theory is far from practice. Both teams have very important matches ahead of us. We want to continue with seriousness and concentration and at the end we will see what we have done”.

-how the mentality changed in Lamia: “The word work follows me from the years I was a football player and now that I am a coach. Faith in the group and the work done since last year, is what can lead us to high goals. It is very important to pass this message on to children. Every year Lamia fought for salvation and it is not easy to change your mentality, to escape from it and go for something more. The very big success is that we managed to do that. Football for me is about balance, not just defense or attack. You have to make the players understand that they will play every game with total respect for every opponent, but not fear. This year, from the beginning, Lamia has shown a healthy competitive and non-competitive team. It is at the feet of our players to do something good, it is essential that the whole goes well”.

– this year’s championship: “It is ambiguous. Competitively, PAOK has a small lead. He has shown, at least in the last few games, that he has a certain way of working, a complete roster and is in very good shape. I’m not saying he will definitely win the championship. The teams behind are good, Panathinaikos, AEK, even Olympiacos who are always… Olympiacos”.
