Genidounias: “Our obligation is to always appear ready and strong”

The marathon of major events continues with the men’s national polo team, which defeated China in its premiere at the World Championship held in Doha.

THE Dinos Genidouniasin his statements after the match, underlined the heavy schedule of the “blue and white”, characterizing the victory of the premiere as a good awakening.

“Lots of matches. All teams have the same schedule, we can’t complain. Most athletes have gone through the same processes as us, our obligation is to always show up ready and strong to compete“, he initially said and then added:

“We feel ready, we have another game against Brazil, theoretically easy, and then the group derby against France, which is on the 9th of the month. Certainly, after the Europeans we were not at all happy with our performance. The match against China was a good wake-up call, we showed spirit and energy, which is the most important thing in all games, no matter who you play. The premieres hide difficulties, so we are happy with the result, we keep this and continue».

THE Dimitris Nikolaidis said for his part:We have said that the first game is important in any major tournament, whether it is a World or European championship. We wanted to enter strong and prove that Greece has high goals again. However, we look at each game individually».
