Something that forces Ilias Zouro’s team to overcome the Spaniards, who are also the best quality team in the group. After all, Murcia is in first place having the absolute (2-2)beating Hapoel Holon (78-61) and Prometheus (90-81).

Of course, beyond the pressure of the result, AEK Betsson is asked to show reaction after the her shocking appearance and the defeat (103-80) in Rhodes by Colossus. In fact, the Dodecanese overcame the difference of 19 points from the match of the first round. A result that dropped the “Union” to the 8th place (7-10) of the Stoiximan Basket League, with the “two-headed” being in serious danger of being in the playouts.

Of course, the “black and yellow”, due to the punishment they carry until the end of the season in the BCL, will play the first game this year at home for the “16” phase with the known restrictions.

In the competitive part, Ilias Zouros cannot count on Dimitris Flionis due to disturbances of the Greek guard in the middle, as well as to Mindaugas Kuzminskas, who is slowly recovering from the surgery he underwent after breaking his finger. He is also out Langston Hall who is dealing with a sprained right ankle, with the American guard of course being out of the picture anyway.

For its part, the Spanish team in Liga Endesa comes from its victory (96-76) against Bilbao and is in 6th place (12-9).

For the AEK Betsson group, on Tuesday night (6/2, 22:00) o Prometheus confronts her Hapoel Holon in Sobateli, Hungary. The match is behind closed doors, with both teams having records 1-1. It is recalled that the first two places in each group give a ticket to the quarter-finals, with the first having a home advantage ahead of the Final-4.

The “notes” of the BCL for the AEK-Murtia match, as posted by the organizing Authority on its website:

* AEK and Murcia have met once, in the 2018 Semi-Final. The Greek team won 77-75 and went on to win the trophy.

* AEK are on a three-game losing streak in the BCL, having lost just three of their previous 13 games in the competition. However, they have never lost four consecutive matches in the competition, despite being in the BCL since 2016.

* AEK have an impressive 9-1 record in their last 10 BCL home games, but that lone defeat was against the only Spanish team they have faced in that span (75-65 at Unicaja in last year’s Round of 16) .

* If Murcia win on Tuesday, they will equal their longest winning streak in the competition. He is currently on a seven-game winning streak, while his eight-game winning streak ran from November 2018 to February 2019.

* Murcia have a 6-1 record in their last seven matches for the Round of 16. They are the only team in this year’s BCL, who have not found themselves behind at the break.

* AEK’s Chaison Randle set a BCL career high with 22 points in a 79-68 loss to Hapoel Holon last week. However, he has not scored double-digit points in any of AEK’s home matches this year. At the same time, Randle has made more than one three-pointer in six of his eight games for the BCL.

* If Murcia’s Dylan Ennis plays on Tuesday, he will reach 50 BCL appearances and if he scores more than 15 points, it will be his first three-match scoring streak in the competition. In the last six home matches, however, he is averaging 7.7 points.
