Michal Michalak officially became a PAOK player on Tuesday. The “black and white” announced the acquisition of the international Polish guard until the end of this season, to replace Andrew Harrison who will continue his career in A2 Italy.
The 30-year-old played this season in his hometown Garni Slupsk, having experience from important European championships.
In detail, the announcement:
“KAE PAOK mateco announces the agreement with the Polish international guard, Michal Michalak, who will strengthen our team’s effort until the end of the 2023-24 season. We welcome Michal to the PAOK family.
Michal Michalak will be integrated with our team immediately, as he is expected tomorrow night in Thessaloniki. He started the season with Czarni Slupsk, with whom he played in 20 games in the Polish league, averaging 16.6 points, 6.1 rebounds and 3 assists per game. In his last game last Saturday, he scored 14 points (7 rebounds and 3 assists) in a 74-65 win over Trefl Sopot.
Michal Michalak was born on November 2nd, 1993 in Pabianice, Poland and at the age of 15, in 2008, he started from the Lodz team, playing in A2.
With the same team, three years later, he made his debut in the first division, having in fact 17.5 points per game and continued his career, mainly playing for teams in Poland, while he also played in Italy, Germany, Spain and Turkey.
Michal Michalak played professional basketball at Trefl Sopot (2012-15), Torun (2015-16), Turow (2016-17), Germani Brescia (2016-17), Zaragoza (2017-18), Anwil Wloclawek (2018-19 ), Legia Warszawa (2019-20), Mitteldeutscher (2020-21), Oldenburg (2021-22), while during last season he started from the Turkish Manisa (from which he left and was replaced by Cecil Williams) and finished the year in Poland with Stal Ostrow.
Michal Michalak is an international player with the Polish national team and in the last Eurobasket he played in 9 games, with his last match being the participation in the small final against Germany”.
