The trial of the year, as many characterize in Spain, ended on Wednesday (7/2) after the testimony of Dani Alves. The legendary, former defender of Barcelona, is accused of sexual harassment against a 23-year-old woman, with the Prosecutor requesting, initially, nine years imprisonment and compensation of 150,000 euros.
The Brazilian testified in court and expressed his own opinion. He claimed that there was a complete consentfrom the victim’s side, while he described in detail the events that happened, that night of the 30th day of December in 2022.
“The complainant and I started dancing closer. We were interacting, having a good time. We were getting closer and closer and she was sticking her member to mine. It was typical for a nightclub. She put her hands on my private parts. There was sexual attraction, I started talking to her so we could go to the toilet. He said yes, I didn’t have to insist. I reached the bathroom and waited for a while. When I went to leave she walked in and I almost fell on her. He unbuttoned my pants and pulled them down. He knelt in front of me and started giving me oral and then sat on top of me. I pushed her away when I went to ejaculate because I wanted to do it outside her genitalsAlves emphasized and continued:
“He never told me he wanted to leave or stop. I didn’t slap her, I didn’t grab her by the hair or head. I didn’t throw her on the floor, nor did I curse her. I am not such a person. I didn’t want people to see us dating».
The prosecuting attorney, for his part, spoke of continuous changes in Alves’s version, while he referred to contradictions, which his testimony presented. In addition, he noted that his description did not match the footprints found in the area.
After the Brazilian’s testimony, the trial was concluded. The decision is expected to be issued in the coming weeks, but there is no specific date.
