It was tried on Thursday 8/2 before the Ethics Committee of the EPO complaint of the president of the federation, Takis Baltakou at the expense of Costas Karapapa, because the latter had thrown a skirt in his face at an arbitration meeting that took place at the EPO on March 27, 2023.

As is already known, the rapporteur of the Commission has proposed a six-month ban from the stadiums and a 40,000 euro fine for Kostas Karapapabased on articles 13, 23 and 25 of the Code of Ethics for defamation.

Approximately ten months after the incident, one of the vice-presidents of PAE Olympiacos apologized before the Ethics Committee and stated absolutely repentant for his act, from the first minute it took place.

Among other things, Kostas Karapapas said during his apology:

“I have regretted my act from the first minute. An act that neither honors me nor expresses my worldview. I may disagree with the EPO president on everything, but this act was unacceptable to me. Even the people closest to me criticized me.

There was tension before, but I regret what happened in the end. I did have the skirt with me, but I hadn’t planned on throwing it at him, I had it to give to my girlfriend. It was an act that does not characterize me as a person. I’m not that kind of person, I don’t act like that.”

THE Vasilis Dimakopoulosfrom the advocates of the vice-president of Olympiakos, said: “He condemns himself for this behavior. Repentance is important. If you are convinced by what he told you, you must deal with him with the greatest leniency”while o Dimitris Karpetopoulos he added with his purchase: “His act was the product of intense indignation because of what had gone before. We are asking for either his release or the lowest possible sentence.”

A decision is expected in the coming days.
