In a real derby in the… blazing ‘Stark Arena’, the Bavarians pulled off a great double from Belgrade, beating 79-78 of the Serbs, thanks to his winning three-pointer Francisco in the last second of the match!

Victory with which Pablo Lasso’s team went up in 11-15 and 13th placekeeping “alive” its hopes of qualifying for the play-ins of the institution, at the time when the “black and white” of Belgrade suffered their third consecutive defeat and lost valuable ground (12-14).

The first scorer for the winners was Francisco with 20 points – 11 of which came in the final period – closely followed by Ibaka with 14 points. For the hosts, the first scorer, but also the fatal one, after he missed the winning shot at the end, was Kevin Pander with 22 points.

The match:

The pace of the first quarter was quite good, with the Bayern Munich to make it hard on They were partisans, opposing the Serbs equally. With the long shot as an ally (4/5 in the quarter) and with the forward Edward Carsenthe Bavarians had the upper hand in the score, closing the first period at +3 for 26-23.

In fact, with a three-pointer by Obst and a shot by Francisco, the guests went at +7 (23-30) at the beginning of the second quarter, showing that they were in complete control of the pace of the match. But somewhere there, Fran Kaminsky came forward for Zelimir Obradovic’s team, with the former NBAer “exploding” and with four accurate three-pointers in as many attempts (!), leading his team to the upset, with Partizan going to the locker room in front of score 45-41!

Picking up where they left off, the Serbs came on strong in the second half, even reaching at +10 (57-47) in the middle of the third period, thanks mainly to his actions Kevin Pander. In the last four minutes, Pablo Lasso’s team “tightened” their defense, as a result of which they kept the home team to just 2 points, thus “gnawing away” at the difference in 4 points (63-59).

The thriller continued in the fourth and final period, where Partizan had – albeit marginally – the upper hand in the score, leading 78-74, 49” before the final. Nevertheless, Bayern reached one unlikely twist, with five points by Francisco in the last 40”, among which was the winning three-pointer in the 1” before the final! In the end, Panther’s three-pointer found iron and so Bayern took the win with it final 79-78.

The quarters: 23-26, 45-41, 63-59, 78-79.
