The celebratory event of Amateur Panionios took place on February 5th and marked a new era for the club, with the efforts and hard work of the last few years already starting to pay off.
The event was attended by over 1,000 people, including the new Mayor of Nea Smyrni, Giorgos Koutelakis, the deputy mayors and representatives of the opposition, the MP and former minister, Takis Theodorikakos, the Deputy Minister of Immigration and Asylum, Sofia Voultepsi, the PASOK MP, Pavlos Christidis, the president of the Hellenic Olympic Committee, Isidoros Kouvelos, the president of SEGAS, Sofia Sakorafa, the president of EOAM-AmA, Ioanna Karyofili, the MP Tasos Gaitanis, the MP Anna Karamanli, the President of AONS MILON, Michalis Sakellaridis, etc.
The evening was full of emotion and euphoria, with Panionios honoring both its old and new athletes, as well as the sports departments that have contributed to the excellent course of the club.
50 athletes and seven teams were awarded for pan-Hellenic and pan-European honors in 14 sports. Basketball player Dimitris Verginis and runner Isabella Kotsacheili were voted athletes of the year by the public. Also, another 23 awards were given to individuals and supporters of the club.
