One of the authors of the samba-enredo “Ask for cashew and I’ll give it… Cashew tree and I’ll give it!” from Padre Miguel’s Mocidade Independente at Rio’s Carnival, Marcelo Adnet went viral on social media when he improvised a composition on a not-so-common theme that would supposedly make a good plot for a samba school. The comedian sang the story of a cobblestone.
Adnet, who has also composed sambas for São Clemente (Rio), Acadêmicos do Sossego (Rio), Gaviões da Fiel (SP), Dragões da Real (SP), among others, talked about his passion for Carnival during his participation in the Glorioso Connection podcast this Thursday (9). He commented on how he created the compositions. “I think the most important thing is that you can take any plot and make it shine,” he said excitedly.
The comedian, who left Globo in November 2023, asked one of the presenters to choose a plot for him to improvise and the theme chosen was parallelepiped.”I am a stone where your foot steps. I am the path and the axé. Crossroads ! I’m on the ground. I’m the path, I’m the champion”, says the lyrics.
On social media, the repercussion was immediate. “Adnet is surreal!”, wrote fellow comedian Vitor Sarro. Journalist Eric Faria, from Globo, also praised Marcelo. “Seriously. @MarceloAdnet is brilliant. The kind that are born every 50 years. There are many talents in one mind. Spectacular!!!”
At the beginning of January, the samba-enredo of Mocidade Independente by Padre Miguel reached first place on Spotify Viral Rio.
