Teo Hernandez on the possibility of returning to Real: “We never know what life will bring us”

by

One of the top fullbacks in the world, Teo Hernandezgave a long interview to “AS” for all the material.

The French full-back referred to his more general presence at Milanin his future, to Maldini and Ibrahimovicwhile he left open the possibility of returning at some point to Realhis passage through which was unsuccessful.

What he said in detail:

For his general presence in Milan: “Both on a sporting and personal level, I feel very comfortable here. I am absolutely grateful to this wonderful city that welcomed me from day one as if it were the home of my life. Everything was easy from the first moment.”

For Pioli: “A person very close to the player and supported me at all times. He gave me the utmost confidence to be able to exploit my abilities and I tried to repay him on the pitch with my work. I thank him very much both personally and professionally because he was a fundamental person in improving my performance.”

On his decision to say yes afterwards and his conversation with Maldini: “To tell you the truth, the first time I saw a legend like him, who came to talk to me, I was a little nervous. He was very clear from the first moment, he explained the project to me, what he wanted from me and told me that with him I would be one of the best in the world, which for me was enough to not hesitate to want to go to Milan. What if Bayer Leverkusen were there too? I knew that at that time many teams had a strong interest in me, but in the end the decision to come to Milan was the right one. Time proved me right.”

For Inter currently leading the league race: “In this city you can breathe football and everyone talks about football. It is almost mandatory to support one of the two big teams and certainly a Milan fan is more annoyed by the fact that the leader is the big rival. However, I am a very ambitious person and if a team other than Milan were champions, it would bother me just as much. Is the Milan or Madrid derby more passionate? Difficult choice. Both rivalries are intense in their own way. They are great duels. I couldn’t say which one is more passionate as both have a special meaning to the fans. I was lucky enough to live and enjoy both experiences.”

I don’t think about the possible victories of any team other than Milan and I focus on the competitions we play. If you ask me one player I’d like to see lift the trophy, I’d say my brother, obviously. Inter-Atletico? Very intense. They are two strong teams, it will be a very balanced duel and sparks will fly. Barcelona-Napoli? Whoever deserves it the most will advance.”

For Ibrahimovic: “Ibrahimovic is a born leader. Even when he couldn’t help us from the field, his presence in the locker room didn’t make anyone relax for a moment. He influences you with his winning character. He is now off the pitch but still close to the team, continuing to make people understand what Milan is all about and the great demands of wearing this shirt. You have to be ambitious and constantly set challenges and goals.”

Regarding Real and his future: “For Real Madrid I have only words of gratitude for the strong commitment they made for me at that time. I am a person who likes to look ahead and focus all my thoughts on the present and the more immediate future, but being the grateful person that I am, I have this great club in my heart. Angry that I didn’t make it with Los Blancos? Perhaps at that moment the ideal conditions were not there to show the potential and enthusiasm I had, but I repeat my gratitude. We never know what life will bring us, but I live for the present. Nobody knows the future. There are still a lot of games to face this season with Milan and I’m really only thinking about what I have to do on the pitch.”
