Panaitolikos is a lad, he took a huge breath and… cuts the Playoffs to Atromitos!

by

Which Cup? Panaitolikos put aside Tuesday’s historic match (13/2, 19:30) against Aris (first time in the “4”), played everything for the eve and redeemed it with a huge victory (1-0) against Atromitos, as part of the 22nd matchday of the Stoximan Super League.

A great result for the “canaries” both because they were invited to compete from the 30′ with player less due abortion of Housekeeper who misses the upcoming Cup game with Aris, as well as because it meant a huge scoring breather, with their first “three points” after five matches in the League with just one point. In other words, what is now in the same number of games is the harvest of Atromitos (9th, with 23 points, the same as Panserraikos) which remained at -7 from Lamia and at -6 from Asteras Tripoli (essentially at -7, as Arkades have the tie between them) and who now only mathematically makes it to the Playoffs. On 18 points Panaitolikos and on +3 from the penultimate Kifisia.

The “golden” goal – and his first in this year’s championship – was achieved by Karelis in the 24′. A lead that, despite the numerical disadvantage, Panaitolikos defended until the finale, even having its chances for a second goal. Of course, the “blue and white” had phases – among them an incredible missed double chance with beam in the 51st minute – they played everything for everything, but without being able to take advantage of the red and find the net.

With injury problem and Diaz leaves on the stretcher.

In… the minds of the coaches:

THE Yannis Petrakis lined him up Panetolico with a 5-3-2 system and Stergakis in goal. The three stoppers are Mavrias, Oikonomou and Mladen, with Mavrias taking the right side and Torrejon the left. The midfield trio of Peres, Hatzitheodoridis and Duarte, with the latter in a more free role, while Dias and Karelis formed the duo in attack.

On the other hand, Mr Sasha Ilyich kept the 4-3-3 for him Fearless. Tsintotas under the goalposts, with Kivrakidis, Tsakmakis, Tzavellas and De Bock making up the defensive quartet, from right to left. Conte is six, with Ender and Jubitana in front of him, with Robbie and Valencia flanking Andzielski.

The match:

The game started at a good pace, with the incorrect transfers of the two teams not allowing phases to come out.

In the 2nd minute, a goal by the exposed Andzielski was correctly disallowed, with Tsakmakis correcting his own mistake in the 7th minute by catalyzing a corner kick. The game was generally balanced, with De Bock threatening with a header from a stoppage time in the 14th minute and Torrejon responding for Panaitolikos with a shot in the 19th minute.

To get to 24′when the hosts also found a way to the net: His excellent cross Daystook advantage of the gap in the opposing defense (due to Tsakmakis coming out to mark Dias, when the latter came into contact with the ball), finding Kareli. The Greek forward left a marginal position, sending the ball into the net with a nice diagonal finish. The phase was reviewed by VAR, with the goal counting as normal.

However, before it could capitalize on any of its momentum, Agrinio’s team was left with ten players in the 30′. And this because o Housekeeper he went very rough on him Ender, finding him dangerously knee-pads on. Correct decision by Ioannis Papadopoulos, which it is indicative that the Greek stopper accepted without complaint.

A condition that forced Yiannis Petrakis to pass Mali instead of Chatzitheodoridis, with the Greek stopper filling the gap of Economos in defense.

Despite their numerical disadvantage, Panaitolikos continued to try to threaten, even missing a great chance with Blackness in the 43′, after shooting Torrejon. Of course, even more important was the phase of Atromitos in 45’+4′when De Bock crossed from the left, Mavrias made little contact, with Angelski to throw himself at the second post, but unable to send the ball into the net from a vantage point.

Atromitos made their first change before the start of the second half, with Sasha Ilic bringing on Kamara (returning from the Africa Cup of Nations) for Tsakmakis, turning the system to 4-4-2. Conte went to the stoppers alongside Xavella, with Kamara and Ender in central midfield, Robay on the left, Jubitana on the right and Valencia flanking Andrzejski in the attacking duo.

The Peristerians immediately took the initiative of the movements. In fact, their first chance in the second part, at 51′she was… incredible, double and me beam! In the first year the ball after his long header Angelski he got very tall and, with the Stergiaki barely finding her, she landed on the crossbar. As soon as he took a downward path, the Valencia made a new header from one meter, seeing the goalkeeper of Panaitolikos make another “stop”. Terrible missed opportunity from the Chilean midfielder.

Atromitos was pressing for the goal, trying to make use of its numerical advantage. Nevertheless, at the same time, he saw Panaitolikos continue to have his moments and in fact they were very good (71′ Liavas, 82′ Huanpi). None of the last attempts of the guests ended up with a goal, hence the Agriniotes reached this very important “three points”.

The compositions of the two teams:

Panaitolikos (Yiannis Petrakis): Stergiakis – Mavrias (75′ Huanpi), Economou, Mladen, Stagic, Torrejon – Peres (75′ Tsingaras), Hatzitheodoridis (37′ Malis), Duarte – Diaz (68′ Liavas), Karelis (68′ Joao Pedro).

Fearless (Sasha Ilitch): Tsintotas – Kivrakidis (77′ Trimmatis), Tsakmakis (46′ Kamara), Tzavellas, De Bock (77′ Athanasiou) – Kunte, Jubitana (68′ Vergos), Ender – Robay (77′ Dirks), Andielski, Valencia.

MVP: “Golden” scorer Karelis, however, the distinction will go to Stergiakis who made impressive and key saves, in order for his team to get the “three points”.

The whistle: All critical decisions correct. Both with the goals that counted or not (2′ Andzielski disallowed and 24′ Karelis goal), and with the dismissal of Economos. Indicative, is the fact that the experienced stopper accepted the decision of Ioannis Papadopoulos without protest. Possibly the Greek referee should have picked it up a little in the disciplinary control.
