OFI: Approaching a negative goals record!

by

Its this year OFI she is very special. The excellent start and the three huge home victories over Aris, PAOK and AEK, followed the dismissal of Valdas Dabrauskas. The Lithuanian coach paid for some negative results and his successor, Pepe Mel, failed to put things right.

The defeat by Olympiakos (4-0) it was the last straw for the Spaniard, where he was officially sacked by the Cretan team, with OFI looking for a third coach within the same year.

This situation is captured and in the league standings, since it is in tenth place and only three points away from the danger zone. One of his big problems OFI is the difficulty with which he scores. He has scored the fewest goals in the division, just 17, and with just four games remaining, he is five goals shy of his lowest performance in a regular season in the league.

The 22 goals which marked the 2020/2021 season are the worst performance of the Cretans in the new millennium.

The two forwards who started the season have scored seven of those, with the club’s management pushing for two centre-forwards in the winter transfer window. THE New Dico left, while the people of OFI hope that Jimenes and Iseka will help the team in the field of scoring.

The time for the playouts is approaching and the Cretans will have to improve their playing situation, since in any case they will fight to stay in the division.
