Dellas: “A lot of work, few words and let’s achieve what OFI can do”

Traianos Dellas emphasized the hard work that everyone at OFI has to do, in his first statements after taking over the technical leadership of the Cretan club. The 48-year-old coach spoke about the new page that is opening in his career and sent a rallying message to the world of OFI.

To take over the technical leadership: “Thoughts are positive. I am happy to be in this historic group. It’s a strange period, but I think this has to do with our own work. I believe in the dynamics of the team with the people around it. A lot of work, few words and let’s achieve what the team can do”.

As to whether the issue is psychological: “Yes, every coach change helps to change the psychology but maybe that is not enough. We have to work on things without extreme changes because it is dangerous, every minute that passes is important for me and the team, so that the atmosphere changes and we are as ready as possible.”

About what he has to deal with: “The team has quality. I think a key element is psychology and self-confidence. We will focus on this to gain confidence through our work, I think the quality of the team will be seen again”

For the message he wants to send to the world: “The moment is more ideal, we want the people, the atmosphere is fantastic, they are always next to the team. The Cretan people are proud. Through our work to make them happy and proud again”.

For the key point for OFI to stay in the category: “I don’t even think about the process. It is more psychological, of course, we will see technical and tactical issues, but we will see these day by day. I want to get to know the kids, get to know me, and every day things will get better.”

About how a player’s psychology changes: “The only solution is work, concentration, because we don’t have time, that’s the big problem. The team has quality and experience and they will quickly produce the things we want. We are away for them, every minute is important. The primary thing is to get to know the players, for the players to know what I’m asking for and time will work in our favor.”
