«At today’s (15/2) meeting of the Board of Directors of ESAKE it was decided to convene an Extraordinary General Assembly of the Association on Monday 14 March.
The General Assembly will meet in order after the first year of operation of the Regulation of Evaluation – Pre-authorization by ESAKE to proceed to suggestions to the EEC and the State for the necessary changes and improvements for the best possible result and ensuring the smooth conduct of the Championship.
Also, in today’s (15/2) meeting, the final positions of ESAKE were formed for the consultation with the EEC for the new Regulation of transfers and registrations of athletes and the restructuring of the categories.
Unanimously the members of the Board approved as the position of ESAKE the agreement with the objectives of the restructuring of the national categories and in particular with the gradual reduction of the number of teams in combination with the control of the participation conditions and with the aim of increasing the competitiveness and viability of the national Championships.
ESAKE proposes, through the gradual reduction of the teams, that the Basket League Championship be held with the participation of 12 OEMs in the 2024-25 season and that a team be demoted and promoted “.
