AEK: “Matias and our players will never be alone again!”

by

Announcement ahead of Sunday’s (18/2, 19:00) match against Kifisia for the 23rd matchday of the Stoiximan Super League, PAE AEK issued.

The OPAP Arena will open its gates for the first time in 76 days and the Union has pointed out to its world the need for Matias Almeida and his footballers not to play in front of empty stands again, drawing their attention to the strictness of new legal framework.

The announcement of PAE AEK in detail:

“Friends of AEK,

After 76 days, on Sunday we make an appointment again at our House, in New Philadelphia. Our House that was closed without our responsibility, but opens its doors again with our full responsibility for everything that happens in it!

AEK must never again compete in a licensed OPAP Arena! Matias Almeida and our football players should never be alone on our field again!

There is a new strict legal framework that leaves no room for frivolity and irresponsibility to anyone. A legal framework which is a central choice of the state and its observance is an obligation of all of us. We must all adapt together and protect our team and our pitch.

OPAP Arena is waiting to welcome us again from the next match with Kifisia based on these very specific obligations that we all undertake. It is not a matter of PAE AEK. It is a matter of observing the new measures of the state and protecting both our team and every friend of AEK personally.

Sunday doors open at 4:30 p.m.

Any smoke generator, flare, firecracker, bottle, any object that can fall on the playing field, means closing the field! Penalties are administrative and now come directly from the state. Plus any additional ones arising from the disciplinary bodies.

In addition, anyone who attempts to enter the stadium without a ticket is directly punished by the state with a ban on entering the stadiums. The same will happen to any legitimate ticket holder who helps someone else enter illegally. Any repeated such behavior may result in a lifetime ban from the pitches.

At the same time, PAE AEK removes season tickets and does not issue tickets to offenders again.

For all the above violations (throwing objects or even illegal entry) very serious penalties are imposed by the state both on the team (closure of the stadium and heavy fines) and on the offender (fines, ban on entering the stadiums and criminal prosecutions that also result in prison sentences) .

We inform our fans that the closed circuit monitoring of our stadium is controlled directly by the Police and evidence of violations that may arise is sent immediately to the prosecuting authorities to impose sanctions on the offenders.

We emphasize that everyone who comes to our stadium must have an identity card or passport or any other form of identification with them. The law obliges everyone to check and any refusal excludes entry to the stadium.

Friends of AEK,

For a bottle of water that fell on the floor, the AEK basketball team was punished with a game day, based on the new legislative framework that provides for penalties directly from the state. The example is unfortunately in front of us and it clearly shows that there is no room for the slightest trace of irresponsibility, carelessness or negligence.

All the time before, as long as the pitches were open, it proved that when we want to, we can protect our team. Now this need is greater than ever!

We have seven more home matches for the league ahead of us, four of which will be against teams in the top five. Our headquarters should be the extra advantage that we have been used to being since we returned to Our Home. It’s up to us to achieve it!

After two months we are waiting for you on Sunday at the match against Kifissia so that we can all experience a big AEK Tsidi celebration together again!”.
