THE Arthur Georgeher old coach Paris Saint Germainwith which he won the French championship in 1994, has breathed his last at the age of 78, his family and the club announced today. “It is with deep sadness that the family of Artur Jorge Braga de Mello Teixeira announce his death this morning in Lisbon after a long illness. He died peacefully, surrounded by his loved ones.” his family said, as reported by Portuguese media.
The veteran international Portuguese striker mastered it 1987 as her coach Porto the Champions Cup against the Bayern Munich (2-1), while celebrating – among other titles – three Portuguese championships.
He also worked, among others, at the national Portugal and Benfica, while he “wrote” two terms at Paris Saint-Germain, on whose bench he sat between 1991-94 and for a few months in the 1998-99 season. He led the French capital club to the Cup in 1993 and the league in 1994.
As a player, he won four championships with the Benfica. Capable scorer as well scored 215 goals in 316 games“wrote” 16 appearances in the national team Portugal.
