Last summer, Mr Vasilij Micic made the big decision to succumb to the lure of the NBA and make the trip to the other side of the Atlantic!
The season did not start well for the two-time Euroleague MVP, as, in the Oklahoma City Thunder he never finds the space and time to unfold his talent and show his skills on the magical NBA courts.
A few weeks ago, the Serbian guard was traded to Hornets, with the 30-year-old playmaker finding… Ithaca basketball, skyrocketing his playing time and numbers! Specifically, in 6 appearances with the Hornets it counts 9.7 points, 6 assists and 2 rebounds averaging 22.2 minutes of action, significantly helping his team to five wins in that span!
The Hornets coach spoke about the former Anadolu Efes player, with Steve Clifford to… drip honey for Micic’s potential and basketball IQ, being completely satisfied with his performance so far!
“The guys that came were here for six days, played three games, then went home, they move… A lot happened and they just have to get back to the right intensity and focus. It’s a little different for these guys. Micic is a talented player. His awareness and feel for the game is truly outstanding. There is still something new for us. The more organized we are offensively, the better he will play.
His IQ, his awareness, his vision… He was MVP in Europe two years in a row. To do it from this position shows a lot. He’s big, he can pass, he can shoot, he’s smart and a good pick-and-roll player.”
