Obradovic: ‘We got over whatever problems we had with Mike James – I’ll be grateful to him for the rest of my life’

Nevertheless, in recent years it seems that he has found his “Ithaca” in Monaco, where he is playing the best basketball of his career but also seems to have calmed down. This was also confirmed by his coach, Sasha Obradovicspeaking to the Serbian channel RTRS.

The Serbian coach emphasized that he has now overcome all the problems that have existed with him in the past Jameswhile he said that he would be grateful to him for his whole life.

About Mike James: “Everything was different in the past. The player had to adapt to the coach and the team. The coach was like a dictator. We have been working with Mike James for three years. He has not played for any manager in longer. Although we had problems, I think we overcame them and now have a harmonious relationship. I have told him many times that I will be grateful to him for the rest of my life. No matter how good a coach you are, you struggle a lot if you don’t have good players. When a team consists of such level of athletes, you have to choose who will play with whom. Mike is one of the players who make the difference for us, like Lloyd and Okobo.”

For the course of Monaco: “Despite the problems we faced, I can say that we have done a very good job up to this point. We managed to break even last month. We started playing at a high level. We have a good schedule from now on in the EuroLeague. Of course, it’s strange to say that in a league where anyone can beat anyone. But we have an advantage when we play at home. Most of the games we played were against teams that are expected to be in the top eight.”
