Iosif Nikolaidis is the new coach of the National Youth Team


Her new coach National Youth is the Joseph Nikolaidis. The 47-year-old former player has presented a very important work in recent years as coach of DEKA, while last year he was on the staff of Vangelis Ziagos, whom he actually replaces.

Iosif Nicolaidis will take over the technical leadership of the National Youth Team. Nicolaidis was also last year in the technical staff of the team, gaining the valuable experience of being present in a European Championship.

In the summer, the Junior National Team will compete in the U18 European Championship, which will be held from July 27 to August 4 in Tampere, Finland. Earlier on the team’s calendar is the Albert Schweitzer International Tournament hosted in Mannheim (30/3-6/4). It is a strong one which is also called “small global”, as teams from outside Europe also take part. This year Greece, Argentina, Turkey, Japan, Slovenia, Australia, Germany U18, Germany U17, Egypt, China and Serbia will compete.

Who is…

Iosif Nikolaidis (13/3/1977) was born in Thessaloniki and played for Aris, Ermis Lagadas, GS Lavriou, Asvestochori and Panedessaikos. He studied at the University of Wisconsin (Mountain Scenario College) in physical education and psychology on a scholarship. His coaching career started at Asteria Academy and continued at GBA, Olympiacos, Mantoulidis, HANTH and DEKA.
