Missing characterizes the decision of the disciplinary body which imposed the punishment of banning him from entering the stadiums for three months and the fine of 50,000 for a racist attack on Tetei the Achilles Beos. The mayor of Volos in his post on Facebook speaks for the judges’ sympathy towards him and points out that his activity in all the previous years in sports and in self-government is such that it proves that he did not work with racist motives.
His statement in detail:
Yesterday’s decision for the allegedly racist attack on the football player Tetei is perforated and unfortunately rejected and was issued by a judge who shows that he was moved by empathy towards me, possibly also by extra-institutional interventions, since in violation of the law, and of this logic itself, it was not based on irrefutable evidence, which was presented, but was constructed with simple vaguenesses that were chosen as convenient. I specifically point out that the opinions of leading professors of Criminal Law, Philology of the Academy of Athens, etc., were ignored.
In my life I have experienced many injustices from sworn Judges. Unfortunately, it’s not the first time. But once again I will emphasize that we ordinary citizens have placed all our hopes in another justice by honest judges with morals, value and integrity, in order to receive the fair treatment that our Republic demands. We look to this Justice with faith and hope.
In each case all these years my activity both in sports events and in self-government, and of course my corresponding business activity, prove in practice that I never operated with racist motiveslike those that this particular judge gave me unproven and with obvious purpose, with a decision that will stigmatize his judicial career.
