PAOK played as much as needed to qualify

PAOK did their duty in Orestiada. The “two-headed” defeated Athlos 3-1 in the last quarter-final of the Men’s Volleyball Cup and got the “ticket” for the final-4 of the competition, 29-31 of the month in Larissa, in order to defend its title, leaving the acrites in the quest for fifth place in the Volley League playoffs.

In the first set, PAOK had significant differences (6-11, 11-17), with Athlos pressing from the serve and equalizing 22-22, but a lost serve and two blocks brought the 0-1 for the “two-headed” .

The Thracians in the second set, although they saw their 9-6 advantage become 13-16 for PAOK, came back and reached a bowl set with Renan’s ace to finally take the set with Hutchinson’s new ace (30-28) .

PAOK reacted in the third and prevailed easily, while in the fourth the 10-10 became 10-14. Kane’s ace (16-18) gave Athlos hope, only for PAOK to respond with a block for 16-21. At 19-23, two straight errors cut it to 21-23, but Van Harderen made it 22-25.
