Last weekend was held at the Perama Shooting Range in Ioannina Panhellenic practice shooting competition with leiocano. The presence of the Greek shooters was not what was expected, something that should concern those in charge, since our country is considered one of the great powers in this sport, with world awards now, and this should be taken care of by the Federation to take advantage of it in order to attract young people athletes who will support it.
The 14 stages of the race relied more on speed and less on the technical training and acumen of the shooters, nevertheless the top players managed to stand out with the first and best George Philippou who for the ninth consecutive year was crowned champion of Greece, being the Patriarch of practical shooting in Greece.
The second place was taken by George Roupakias which is a constant force in space and the third place o Konstantinos Argyris leaving him in fourth place Gabriel Bodikoglou from Thessaloniki which had a strong presence in the match.
In Open category The Michalis Chatzigiannis confirmed his superiority competing with Aimpoint’s new scope that gives him even more speed, leaving in second place George Iliadis who played at a high pace and also made a very good appearance. On the podium, in third place, went up George Tsekouras and followed by Pavlakakis Efthimios, Farmakis Thanassis and Grigoriadis Diamantis, athletes with a stable and notable presence in the field.
In Standard a great battle was fought between the Yiannis Topalidis and Yiannis Karman who were together at the World of Thailand and were crowned silver World Champions, which gave special interest to the category. Giannis Topalidis, who belongs to the Beretta team, finally prevailed and was crowned for the third year in a row Panhellenic champion in this category, while Giannis Karman competed wonderfully and fully justified his position in the top four of the National team, as he did in the World Championship. The third place was won by Nikos Rentas which had a great improvement, while the fourth and fifth places were occupied by two of the best pistol shooters Vassilis Doulas and Alexandros Sklavis who came back and left excellent impressions.
End of Standard Manual The Christos Giannakidis from Ethnik Alexandroupolis won the title for the first time by playing brilliantly and leaving the excellent Dimitris Kandylis in second place and Thanasis Sismanis in third place by a small margin, confirming that something good is happening in Alexandroupolis after the first and third places were occupied by its own shooters.
