by

The long awaited announcement of the venue for the biggest event in the minor football calendar, the Socca World Cup 2024 came this month and it was a surprise!

After the huge success of the last Socca World Cup, which saw hundreds of thousands of fans flock to Essen, Germany, excitement had run high among member countries and fans to see where the next edition of Socca’s flagship event would take place.

At a press conference in Muscat, Oman, Head of Socca Middle East Waleed Al Obaidani, Socca Greece CEO Thanos Papadopoulos and Development Director Julia Colter made the announcement that Oman will host the next Socca World Cup, making the first non-European country to host the event.

The Greek mini football team, under the instructions of coach Giorgos Bastakis, will once again claim the distinction, having as legacy the previous participations and is optimistic about the final result!

The 2024 Socca World Cup will be held between November 29 and December 7, 2024, in the beautiful capital of Oman, Muscat. Oman is a strategically chosen country by the ISF as it represents the true link between the past and the future, both sportingly and culturally. It is a fantastic achievement by the ISF and everyone involved in the bid to bring this tournament to Oman and knock on the door of the Middle East in the most authentic way.
