The Euroleague webcast ‘The Crossover’ hosted Bayern Munich centre-back, Serge Ibakagiving a very interesting interview in which he talked about his childhood in the Democratic Republic of Congo, his NBA career, and his decision to move to Europe.
Regarding the reasons that led him to choose to join Bayern Munich, he stated: “One of the main reasons I came to Bayern was Pablo Lasso. I know Lasso from Madrid when I went to play there during the NBA lockout. I already knew him as a person, as a coach. Before the call with Pablo, my agent suggested several options to go to Euroleague teams and I said no. I was trying to focus on getting back to the NBA. I don’t know if this man has the ability to speak magically, but he was able to change my mind and I came.”.
In addition, he also weighed in on the comparison of the EuroLeague to the NBA, saying: “Each Euroleague game is like the NBA playoffs. It ‘s crazy. You have to go out there and play your best every game. It’s crazy fun”.
