Missed opportunity for Kifissia and OFI – They were stuck at zero in Keisariani

by

They “wasted” the opportunity to celebrate the three points and to be even more distracted from the danger zone Kifissia and OFIwith the two teams remaining in the “white” draw in Kaisariani, as part of the 1st matchday of the Stoiximan Super League playouts.

In a game that had a good pace for most of the match, but also many opportunities on both sides, the two gladiators could not find the way to the opposing nets, thus remaining at zero.

For the hosts, this was their 4th consecutive draw in the league, remaining 5th in the playouts with 22 degrees and at +2 from the relegation zone. OFI, who remained for the fourth match without a win (3 draws), moved up to 26 degrees, having a good safety “cushion” in view of continuity.

In the coach’s mind:

THE Kostas Bratsos lined up the hosts with a 4-2-3-1 system. Anagnostopoulos was found under the goal, with Gobelic, Teixeira, Tsapan and Milicevic making up the foursome of the defense. Soloa and Canadzia started in the midfield positions, with Bifuma, Menendez and Santos moving in the midfield trio, behind the only promoted, Ozegovic.

On the other hand, Mr Traianos Dellas started with the classic 4-2-3-1. In goal was Bowman, with Larson, Vouro, Lambropoulos and Abada being the foursome of the defense. In the axis were Bakits and Meyados, with Baku and Apostolakis on the two “wings” and Jimenes in a free role, behind the forward, Iseka.

The match:

With the start of the match, the rainfall in Kasariani, which, however, did not affect her at all Kifissiawho came into the match strongly, controlled the match and pressured the opposing defense.

Before the first minute of the match was even completed, the team of Kosta Bratsos “touched” the goal, when from Milicevic’s cross at the second post, Lampropoulos took the projection of Mateus Santos over the line! Two minutes later, his long shot Milicevic Bowman consistently blocked, while in the 7th minute, his place Ozegovic found the bodies and ended up in a corner. As the phase progressed, the hosts asked for a penalty on a tag by Larson to Mateus Santoswith the referee, Michalis Matsoukas, saying “it’s on”.

After the completion of the first quarter and then, o OFI, moved up his lines, gained yards on the field and leveled the situation. In fact, in the 19th minute, the Cretans opened the scoring with terrible energy of Isekawho brought down the ball perfectly, covered a few meters and beat Anagnostopoulos in the 4-a-4, goal which was however disallowed for offside.

In the 26th minute, it was the home team’s turn to threaten with good conditions, with Teixeira to fly into the “heart” of the large area and with a header from Milicevic’s execution send the ball just wide. The very active in the first 45 minutes, Milicevicwas the creator of another good moment for Kifissia in the 30th minute, when with his cross to the second post, Mateus Santos tried with a spin on the move to score, but his finish was not good. From 35′ onwards, OFI took the reins and arrived twice close to the goalinitially, with Baku in the 38th minute to be defeated by contact by Anagnostopoulos and then in the 44th minute, when after a period of time, the ball was placed in Bakitswho with a high-hanging shot tried to score in the left “window”, with the ball going just wide.

The scene was similar at the beginning second half with the equivalent of the first one, with the Northern Suburbs team entering the pitch dynamically, moving the ball around and controlling the pace. The first moment of the replay was not long in coming, as at 53rd minuteKifisia came very close to the goal, with Ozegovic to waste a unique moment, turning his body nicely in the area, with his shot narrowly going wide.

Two minutes later, bad exit of Anagnostopoulos it almost turned out to be… fatal for Kifissia, with him Baku to enter the phase and save Tsapan at the last moment to concede the corner. In the following period, OFI had two finals with them Baku (56′) and Apostolakis (62′) to stop on opponents’ bodies, while in 67′, the home keeper cleared his weak header Iseka from a vantage point.

In 67′, Kifisia threatened after some time with his nice shot Bifuma, for the visitors’ answer to come in the 71st minute with Apostolakis’ nice deflected shot from the left narrowly going wide. In the 78th minute, Vafeas’ strong and sweeping shot went wide for the hosts, who after the entry of the Tetei and Klonaridis in 79′ they changed their formation to 3-5-2.

Despite the many changes of the two coaches, the pace of the match remained high until the final, with both teams having a good moment each, initially OFI with Baku’s place kick by Anagnostopoulos in the 85th minute, and then for Kifissia in 89′ with Bowman coming out and making a save before Mateus Santos!

MVP: One of the standouts is certainly Milicevic, who helped Kifissia significantly, both defensively and offensively with his moves from the left.

The… whistle: Despite the fact that the match did not have difficult phases, the referee, Michalis Matsoukas, took the yellow card out of his pocket five times, which are considered correct. As for OFI’s disallowed goal with Iseka in the first half, the phase was checked by VAR and ruled out for offside, also confirming the assistant who had attributed it from the beginning.

The match lineups:

Kifissia (Kostas Bratsos): Anagnostopoulos, Gobelic (79′ Klonaridis), Teixeira, Tsapan, Milicevic, Soloa (68′ Vafeas), Tsanatzia, Bifuma (79′ Tetei), Menendez (68′ Pritsas), Mateus Santos, Ozegovic.

OFI (Traianos Dellas): Bowman, Larson, Vouros, Lambropoulos, Abada, Bakics (79′ Riera), Meyado, Jimenez (64′ Gayegos), Baku (88′ Felipe), Apostolakis (88′ Mosquera), Iseka.
