Emphatic response of Olympiakos to Milos and… his change for qualification to Nea Smyrni

He made a reaction and took the second step out of three needed to qualify for this year’s finals Volleyball League Olympiakos.

After their 3-0 set loss last Thursday (14/3) in Nea Smyrni, the “red and white” responded and prevailed with 3-1 (25-18, 25-19, 20-25, 25-17) of I was talkingtaking the lead with 2-1 wins in the semi-final series!

Daniel Castellani’s team dominated by comfortably taking the first two sets, with the visitors reacting and showing their good game face in the third, before bending in the fourth, which the Piraeus won 25-17.

The next semi-final is scheduled to be held at the home of Milos, on the following day Thursday (21/3, 20:30)while tonight (19:00) o Panathinaikos hosts him PAOKwanting to make it 3-0 to get the qualification.

The match started with Olympiakos imposing its pace and dominating, taking a lead of 5-1, 7-2 and 9-3, while the “red and whites” kept +5 until 12-7, before Milos made 4-0 run, down to a point (12-11). However, the hosts found a reaction, regaining a “safety” margin (18-12), before finally reaching 1-0 with 25-18.

Olympiacos-Milonas 3-1

At the start of the second set, the home team took a 6-2 and 8-4 lead, while the visitors continued to face problems, both in attack and reception. All they managed was to get as close as 10-7, with Olympiakos breaking away again to +6 and arriving without being seriously threatened, until 25-19.

The best set of Milos was the third, with the Neosmyrnios practically showing their best face for the first time in the game, having a steady lead. Olympiacos went ahead (for the first time after 1-0) with 11-10, but it was the visitors who found the solutions in the final of the set, finally conquering it with 25-20 and reducing to 2-1.

Olympiacos-Milonas 3-1

Although Milonas was leading the match at the start of the fourth set, when he took a lead of 3-1 and 6-4, Olympiacos imposed its superiority, running away with 15-10 and never looking back, comfortably reaching the 25-17 and celebrating his second win in the semi-final series.

The sets: 25-18, 25-19, 20-25, 25-17
