Beu’s penalty was reduced for the “french” on Poulikidis in Kifissia-Volos

During the infamous Kifisia-Volos match, outside of it racist attack on Teteion the score sheet of the match were also written the incredibly “french” which had been said by Achilles Beos to the match referee, Konstantinos Poulikidis.

The strong man of the Thessalian team had been punished for insulting the referee with ban on entering the playing field and changing rooms for three months and with a fine of 12,000 euroswhile the same fine had been imposed on Volos.

So both he and the Volos team appealed against this decision and the appeals committee of the EPO decided to reduce the original sentence to 45 days entry banbut to retain the fine.

The EPO announcement:

The EPO Appeals Committee made the following decisions at its last meeting.

– He rejects the appeal from 20.2.2024 in so far as it is brought by PAE Volos NPS and in so far as it is brought by Achillea Beo and it concerns the imposition of a fine of 12,000 euros against the latter.

– He accepts formally and partly in substance the same above appeal, as it is brought by Achillea Beo, president of the aforementioned PAE, against decision No. 34/16.2.2024 of the First Instance Single Member Disciplinary Body of the Super League.

– Reforms the No. 34/16.2.2024 decision of the Primary Single Member Disciplinary Body of the Super League and imposes on Achillea Beo a penalty of banning entry to the playing field and the locker room for 45 days and a fine of 12,000 euros and on the appellant PAE Volos NPS a fine of 12,000 euro.
