THE Thiago Pintoits former technical director Romahe said in an interview with Jose Mourinho.

The 36-year-old noted that when the Portuguese coach was fired by the “Galorossi” he felt like he was… dying, while he revealed that the “Special One” did not have the players he wanted in the team.

His statements in detail:

On Mourinho’s sacking: “It was a very difficult day. I’m still young, I don’t know if the older guys reacted differently, but I felt like I was dying when they fired the coach. When a coach gets fired, it means you’re doing something wrong. It was an emotional situation, we worked together for two and a half years.”

On the rumors that he had stopped the owners from sacking Mourinho earlier: “Mourinho knew well that I was a soldier for these two and a half years. It’s normal, especially during the transfer periods for there to be some tension between the coach and the technical director, but he knew that I was loyal to him and to the team.”first reported and continued:

“We may have had different ideas, but we worked together. I’ve never signed a player without Mourinho’s approval, but at the same time, I’d be lying if the players we brought in were the first choices we had for the team. It is also not fair to say that Mourinho had the players he wanted, because it is not true. The players they signed were the players they could sign, but nobody came to Roma without Mourinho giving the green light.”
