Their opponents in the final phase of U19 European Championships they learned today the national youth men’s and youth women’s water polo teams, after the relevant draws have been conducted. The new men’s event will take place in Burgas, Bulgaria, from September 1 to 7, and the Greek team has been drawn in Group B, where they will face Germany, Serbia and Italy. The corresponding event for the young women will take place one week earlier (August 24-31) in Zagreb and the national team will play in Group A with Hungary, Croatia and France.
It is recalled that in both European Championships, the participating teams are divided into two informal categories. In the first (groups A and B) the first eight of the immediately previous event participate and in the second (groups C and D) the remaining teams. After the first phase, the top two from each group of the first division go directly to the quarter-finals, while the third and fourth play a knockout match against the top two of the second division groups, in order to complete the places of the eight.
