Nikos Karavanos triumphed at 92k. freestyle and won the silver medal at the international wrestling tournament held in Tallinn. In a very difficult category, the APOR champion proved that he is in excellent condition and with six consecutive victories he found himself in the final claiming the gold medal.
Karavanos first defeated the Finnish Liedes 8-0, the Polish Rutkowski by technical superiority, the Lithuanian Paulauskas by technical superiority. Then, despite the fatigue, he defeated the Latvian Barinovs 3-1, the Romanian Metea with technical superiority and the Ukrainian Tsvihun 3-1.
In the final, Nikos Karavanos faced the Ukrainian Postovi and was defeated, as a result of which he won the silver medal and brought Greece’s greatest success in the competition.
The Cretan champion also competed in the Greco-Roman, where he finished seventh.

After the end of the games, the athletes of the APOR, Olympionikis Volos and AS Taxiarchis clubs participated in a two-day preparation camp. PAOK athletes also participated in the games.
