Determined to put… back and fix it Panthessal Stadium in order to meet the conditions of the new sports law appeared o Achilles Beos.
Speaking to ERT3, the Mayor of Volos committed to pay the cost of installing cameras – about 300,000 euros – but also the turnstile on the stadium, so that everything is ready for the final of the Betsson Greek Cup on May 18.
Achillea Beu’s statements in detail:
“The Cup final must finally be a celebration. We had built the stadium according to UEFA’s specifications. With the new Law, new high level cameras are needed and in places beyond where they exist. That’s why he doesn’t qualify and needs to get a new system. For this reason, the Municipal Authority will pass it to the next board and put in the cameras and even a turnstile that is missing.
Therefore, in terms of security measures and conditions set by the Legislation, it will be followed to the letter and will meet the conditions. It’s an Olympic standard stadium and it has to meet the requirements. We have fifty days and we will have it ready. But that is not the issue here. Does the Olympic Stadium have cameras? Has not. The cost is over 1,000,000 euros. In the Panthessaliko Stadium the cost is 300,000 euros. It will be done because we are bound to do it. The Police Directorate gave permission for the presence of 12-13 thousand fans. My opinion is that it could be as much as 15,000 but the Police will decide. However, the Panthessaliko will be ready for May 18 based on the specifications of the new sports law”.
