Stoiximan Basket League: Premiere for the Second Phase

by

Its historic third round premieres Stoiximan Basket League.

After the completion of the regular season, the league’s twelve teams were divided by ranking into two groups of six, for Phase II applied for the first time in history, naturally conveying their effects.

The first six will participate in the Top 6 and the rest in the Play Outs.

From there on, the last Play Out team will be relegated to Elite Leaguewhile the first two will participate in the playoffs occupying the 7th and 8th place.

The first Play Out team even if it has more points at the end than the 6th in the Top 6 cannot overtake it in the series for the playoffs. The Top 6 teams will occupy positions 1 to 6 in the playoffs.

The first game in time will be played in the closed “A. Papandreou”, where the Pigeon bwin will welcome him Colossus of Rhodes (30/3, 17:15). His team Vasilis Spanoulis finished the league regular season with 15-7 and the third place, while on the other hand the “sea” 9-13. Two teams had one win each, with Kolossos winning in the first round in overtime with 104-93 and Peristeriotes to get the revenge, winning 89-77.

At 45 minutes after the jamball in Peristeri, his match is scheduled PAOK by Apollo of Patras (30/3, 18:00), for the Play Outs. The “double-header of the north” finished ninth with the disappointing 8-14while on the other hand the team of Achaia was trailing with 3-19.

Of course, the matchup is… crucial for Apollo, as they are a breather from relegation to the Elite League and are essentially looking for a… miracle to stay up. In fact, Patrinoi along with Karditsa were the only teams in this year’s championship that did not celebrate not a single away winhaving eleven defeats in the same number of matches.
