The 23-year-old guard (1.93m), number 30 in the 2019 draftplayed on Cavaliers and Rockets counting Averaged 15.3 points, 5 assists, 4.3 rebounds and 1.1 steals in 30.2 minutes in 196 appearances. In fact, last year in 59 appearances with Houston he had his best season, averaging 19.2 points, 5.7 assists, 5.3 rebounds and 1.4 steals in 34.3 minutes per game.
Based on performance Porter would still be in the NBA, however paid for his behavior and off-field adventures. In 2020 he was charged with gun possession but the charges were dropped when it was found that the gun belonged to his mother. On September 11, 2023 he was arrested for violence against his partner and last January he accepted the charges. The Rockets, in the interim, had traded him to the Thunder, from whom he was released before the NBA season began.
